College Teachers Cannot Ever Have Enough Online Education Jobs



It is always difficult for any professional to make dramatic changes in the arc of a chosen career and traditional college instructors teaching on an adjunct basis for physical post-secondary academic institutions are not different in that regard. Sooner or later, a college adjunct instructor must recognize that the low pay and overcrowded college classrooms are not the motivation needed to propel an intellectual with a doctorate or master’s degree to new heights of professional and personal achievement. The current economic travails have penetrated the colleges and universities in a negative fashion, and as academic administrators attempt to save the physical plants known as the college and university campuses they are engaging in mass firings of the least protected faculty members.

At the same time, graduate programs are continuing to produce more individuals qualified to teach at the university level. From practically every angle the academic labor conditions faced and endured by adjunct college teachers have become intolerable so far as they are manifest themselves in the physical college classroom. It is time for adjunct academics to take matters into their own capable hands and start applying to online bachelor degree programs and online master’s degree programs for online college classes to teach from their personal computers.

Since there does not seem any end to the ability of distance education technology to allow colleges, community colleges and universities to efficiently and effectively create ever more accredited online college degree programs, it is beyond time for current adjunct college instructor dissatisfied with the pay and work conditions on the physical college or university campus to realize college teachers cannot ever have enough online education jobs.

The for profit colleges that award their new and returning college students the bachelors degree online and the online masters degree have lead the way into the academic future by demonstrating clearly that college students today are quite comfortable earning an accredited online accounting degree, an online business management degree or an online masters degree in education from their personal computers at home and at work. Of course, success often breeds criticism and such criticism misses entirely the point of how the online college degree programs that offer accredited online bachelor degree and accredited online master degree provide the adjunct college teacher a genuine professional mechanism that empowers both on a personal economic level and a professional economic level.

This inherent portability and scalability of online degree programs is of great value to online adjunct instructors, and as more traditional colleges and universities deploy their accredited online university programs the opportunities for earning a decent living by teaching online full time for online degree programs will grow in tandem. Of course, as traditional college teachers realize the potential of online adjunct teaching the greater the competition will grow in the coming years, and for this reason college teachers cannot ever have enough online education jobs.
